We will dive into The Importance of Comprehensive Fitness for the LGBTQ+ Community

Mental Health: According to the Trevor Project’s 2023 National Survey, 71% of LGBTQ+ youth reported feeling sad or hopeless for at least two weeks in the past year. Mental wellness is a cornerstone of overall health, particularly in communities facing systemic discrimination.

Spiritual Wellness: Many LGBTQ+ individuals experience tension within spiritual spaces. However, when embraced by inclusive faith-based or mindfulness communities, spiritual connection can foster deep healing and resilience.

Social Health: According to the CDC, LGBTQ+ individuals are more likely to experience social isolation, especially seniors. Events like this mixer provide vital social engagement and support networks within the community.

Physical Health: The Florida Department of Health states that LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly in areas like South Florida, face barriers to regular healthcare—including screenings and prevention services—which can impact long-term physical health outcomes.

Our involvement would aim to foster awareness around these challenges and contribute meaningful engagement around the solutions available.
