Join MODS for a journey through Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, a 226 square mile refuge dedicated to habitat preservation and animal conservation. Guests will take a hike along the Marsh Trail, habitat to alligators, mammals and a variety of incredible birds. Guests will visit a working 80-acre outdoor living laboratory (LILA) where scientists are testing techniques to help with Everglades restoration. Then, explorers will “dip net” for macroinvertebrates that help with identifying water cleanliness and enjoy a boardwalk tour through a cypress swamp. The excursion is appropriate for all ages but recommended for children 5 years old and older. All children 17 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Attendees must be able to walk long distances (more than a mile) over uneven terrain and must be comfortable around water.
